Made for 2019-20 Sculpture in the Gardens Exhibition, Auckland Botanic Gardens Indoor show. Was also my rejected proposal for the outdoor show.

It is a variation of ‘Beneath the Surface‘, a sculpture I made for the MANZ exhibition About Face, at Artis Gallery, February 2019, about the need to delve deeper in order to gain any kind of understanding about a person, place or thing.

A meditation on inner connection and self focus; most closely related to the Buddhist concept of non-self. Finding that place inside where there is oneness, wholeness and peace. Finding connection to the foundations which carry us through Life.
